Mom: I need you to help me out with the laundry.

Laundry既可以指需要洗的脏衣服，也可以指正在洗的衣服，还可以指洗好的衣服。

Do you think you can learn to fold your own clothes?

你觉得你能学学怎么叠自己的衣服吗？

Child: Yeah, Id like to help and learn.

Mom: Good, thank you.

Well need a flat surface to work on.

I. Folding Pants 叠裤子

Child: Whats the easiest?

Mom: Pants are the easiest.

Grab a pair

拿起一条，

and shake them to remove the wrinkles.

Then take the bottom hem

and fold it up one-third of the way.

Now fold the top of your pants down to the fold you just made.

II. Folding A Shirt 叠衣服

Child: Can we fold shirts next?

Mom: Yes.

Lay the shirt on the bed

with the front facing down.

Do you see the collar of the shirt?

Youll make two lengthwise folds.

One fold will be a little to the left of the collar,

and the other fold will be a little to the right of the collar.

Then, fold the sleeves down the length of the shirt.

然后，把袖子沿着衣服的边叠过来。

Finally, youll fold the bottom of the shirt up to the collar.

最后，把衣服的下面往上叠到领子那儿。

Try to flip it over.

试试把它翻过来。

Child: Wow, that looks nice!

宝宝：哇，真好看！

III. Folding Socks 叠袜子

Child: How do you fold socks?

宝宝：那怎么叠袜子呢？

Theyre so small.

Mom: There are lots of ways to fold socks.

Ill show you the method I like to use.

Actually, the hardest part about folding socks is finding every socks partner.

Look in the laundry basket for a matching pair.

去洗衣筐里找一对儿。

Child: OK.

宝宝：好的。

I found these two orange socks.

我找到两只橙色的袜子。

They were easy to see.

Mom: Good.

Lay them on top of each other on the bed.

The cuff sides should be together,

and the toe sides should be together.

Now roll the toe sides up

until you get to the cuff side.

Then, turn it over,
